Eagle
Christians
- 1. The Eagle is born, with its mouth wide open
a. Its so hungry / Always looking for food
b. We should be like that in a spiritual sense
- It has its nest ruffled, because it was born to
fly
Deut. 32:11, Says God
is like,
An eagle stirs up its nest, Hovers over its young,
Spreading out its wings, taking them up,
Carrying them on its wings
The
mother eagle watches until the eaglets in the nest are fully feathered and when
she feels they have matured sufficiently she begins to stir the nest, they tell
me that with her sharp beak she begins to tear out everything in the nest that
makes it so soft and cozy. She removes all the padding of rabbit fur and animal
skins making the nest so uncomfortable and so miserable that her little ones
don't even want to stay in the next any longer.
God
stirs the nests of His people some times and He does it for a reason, He does
it for a purpose, He does it because He has so much more for them He has
things He wants them to see, He has places He wants them to go, He has
experiences He wants them to be involved in that are beyond their wildest
dreams, but to experience them His children need to come with Him. They need to
leave the comfort zone and reach out in the great avenue of faith.
But
just as he's having the time of his life, Mother eagle suddenly flutters her
wings and shakes him loose from her wing - Right in the middle of the air -
hundreds of feet from the ground. It's time for the eaglet to fly by itself.
Now when Mother eagle shakes the little one loose, she doesn't say, "Well,
you're on your own now, see you around," and fly away. No, she slowly
begins to circle around the surprised little eaglet keeping a concerned
watchful eye on him as he flounders and flutters trying to fly for the first
time. Furiously, he flaps his wings, he turns somersaults, he does everything
to try to stay aloft, but slowly he starts to lose altitude. When Mother eagle
sees her little one get dangerously close to the ground, she swiftly swoops
down, snares him with her claw, and carries him upward to a great height and
starts the process all over again.
3. The molting Process Renewal
The Eagle is the most majestic bird in the
sky, but something happens to all Eagles at least once in their lifetime, they
molt. In the life of every Eagle, they will go through a molting process that
can bring with it a great depression. This is a wilderness time that all eagles
will face. Certain eagles live for about 30 years or more but then they begin
to lose their feathers, Their beak and claws begin to alter as well. The
experts tell us brothers and sisters that during this time, the eagle will walk
like a turkey and they has no strength at all to fly. The molting eagle finds
himself in the valley, unable to fly, with its feathers falling out. They lose
their ability to see, as well, their vision weakens during this time. Calcium
builds up on their beaks and they can't hold their heads up. Now this is so
traumatic, to the proud majestic birds that Eagles truly are. They lose their
desire to eat, they only eat fresh meat and they have no strength to hunt..
During this time some have
observed other eagles coming and dropping food to the ones going through this
"molting" stage. Yet its never the younger eagles that are dropping
the food, it is always the older eagles that have survived this experience and
know what the "molting" eagle is going through. One writer, with
knowledge of these things states...
"It is a most pathetic sight to see. Four or five eagles molting in the
valley, where they once would only soar over to look for fresh kill. But, If
they don't renew, they will die. "
They grow weaker and weaker. Suddenly there comes a sound from the sky over the
valley. Screaming loudly, another group of eagles fly overhead and drop fresh
meat over the dying birds. The screaming is encouragement. That's what they reckon;
the screaming is encouragement from other Eagles who have already gone through
this.
